Environmental and Safety Initiatives by Hamilton County, Ohio, Highlights Proactive Government Strategy at ARCHIBUS Users’ Conference, April 26-29

Tracking Green Building Progress and Safety Programs Made Easier with ARCHIBUS TEAMS Environmental Software Applications

March 12, 2009, Boston, Massachusetts — Whoever said government is the problem obviously never met the administrators of Hamilton County, Ohio, who are now achieving a higher level of environmental compliance using TEAMS software from ARCHIBUS, the #1 software developer worldwide of real estate, infrastructure and facilities management solutions.

That county, which includes the city of Cincinnati, boasts a tech-forward management team that has deployed TEAMS to track its progress in reconfiguring existing buildings according to the U.S. Green Buildings Council LEED certification guidelines for environmental sustainability.

Hamilton County’s green initiatives and results will be described by Michelle Ray, the County’s CAFM Project Manager, at the 2009 International ARCHIBUS Users’ Conference, April 26-29, at Scottsdale, Arizona’s Camelback Inn.

“We don’t anticipate adding new buildings to the County’s portfolio in the foreseeable future and so we wanted to follow environmental sustainability principles when updating or reconfiguring existing buildings to the LEED Silver level, the organizations third-highest rating,” says Ray. “Tracking our green building progress required a combination of ARCHIBUS Project Management software and the TEAMS Green Building application so that facilities managers, engineers and architects can access and share the information they need.”

“The modular flexibility of TEAMS allows the system to be tailored to meet the needs of our customers, regardless of their specific industry or size,” emphasizes Joe Kolmer, Vice President of Operations for ARCHIBUS Solution Center — Environment + Sustainability Services, the developer of TEAMS.

Hamilton County has also implemented the TEAMS Environmental Health and Safety application to track employee training, incident reporting and other information to improve health and safety performance.

“With this suite of applications, we’re confident we’ll meet all our green building, safety and compliance goals with a lot fewer headaches,” says Ray.
